How to Create a WordPress Blog Post with AI Web Command

Learn how to create a useful WordPress post from chat, prepare SEO details, add a featured image, and save it as a draft for review.

You do not need to write a technical brief to create a WordPress post with AI Web Command. Once your WordPress site is connected to an MCP-compatible AI assistant, you can describe the article you need in plain language, review the draft in chat, and ask the assistant to save it in WordPress for you.

The simplest workflow is: give the assistant a clear topic and audience, ask for the complete post and SEO fields, review the content and image, then tell it whether to save a draft or publish. You stay in control of the final content and status.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Connect the AI Web Command plugin to your WordPress site and an AI client that supports remote MCP with a compatible sign-in method. In chat, describe the article, audience, goal, and keyword. Ask for the post, SEO title and description, excerpt, internal links, and a featured image if your AI client can provide one. Review the result, then explicitly ask to save as a draft or publish.

Before you start: connect WordPress to your AI assistant

Install the AI Web Command plugin on the WordPress site you want to manage. In WordPress, open AI Web Command → Connection, choose Connect your plugin, and complete the pairing steps in your dashboard. Then connect an AI client that supports remote MCP using one of the authentication methods it accepts.

Claude, Codex, ChatGPT web, and Grok have been tested in this workflow. Other AI apps can connect when they support remote MCP and a compatible authentication method; setup screens and available features can vary by client. The connection only works with the WordPress operations and permissions granted to it.

Give the assistant a clear brief—not a complicated command

Start with the information a human writer would need: what the post is about, who it is for, what the reader should learn or do, and any keyword you want to target. You can also specify language, tone, length, examples to include, and pages on your site the article should link to.

If you are not sure how to structure the post, ask for an outline first. You can adjust the headings in chat before asking the assistant to write the full article. That small review helps keep the article focused on the reader instead of filling it with generic sections.

EXAMPLE REQUEST

“Create a helpful English WordPress blog post about [topic] for [audience]. The goal is to help readers [goal]. Use the primary keyphrase [keyword] naturally. Start with a short outline, then write the full article with clear headings, practical steps, and examples. Verify factual claims with primary sources and do not invent statistics or product features. Suggest a useful excerpt, SEO title, meta description, slug, category, and relevant internal links. Save the finished post as a draft; do not publish it.”

Ask for the complete WordPress post

After you approve the outline, ask the assistant to prepare the post for your site. Depending on the available WordPress permissions and SEO plugin, that can include the article body, post title, slug, excerpt, category, tags, SEO title, meta description, and supported social metadata. You can ask it to use your site’s existing article style and link to related pages, such as your FAQ, pricing, or an earlier guide.

For example, instead of “make it SEO,” ask for a natural title that explains the article, a concise search description, one clear primary topic, descriptive headings, and links that genuinely help readers. SEO fields support how the page is described in search and social previews; they do not guarantee rankings or traffic.

A featured image helps the post look complete in the blog grid and can be used in sharing previews. If your AI client can generate or provide an image file or an accessible image URL, ask it to upload the image to the WordPress Media Library, set it as the featured image, and add concise descriptive alt text. The plugin handles the WordPress media operation; image generation itself depends on the AI client and its available tools.

If the assistant cannot provide an image, you can upload one yourself or ask it to use an existing Media Library image. Ask it to confirm which image it selected and what alt text was saved. Alt text should describe the meaningful image content—not repeat the article’s keywords unnaturally.

01 / CONTENT

Check the reader’s question

Does the opening answer what the title promises? Are the steps clear and the examples useful?

02 / DETAILS

Verify every claim

Check product names, links, prices, compatibility, and any fact that could have changed.

03 / PRESENTATION

Preview before publishing

Review the title, image, alt text, headings, links, and layout on the site.

Review the post, then choose its status

Ask the assistant to save the article as a draft when you want to review it later. Open the preview in WordPress and check the final layout, links, image, and mobile display. If you want changes, describe exactly what to adjust—for example, “shorten the introduction, keep the headings and links unchanged, and make the example more relevant to a small agency.”

When the post is ready, you can ask the assistant to publish it, or publish it yourself in WordPress. Make the desired status explicit: “Save as a draft” and “Publish now” are different instructions. AI Web Command operates through supported WordPress actions; it does not grant shell, SSH, SQL, or arbitrary file access.

Make follow-up edits in the same conversation

You do not have to start over when you spot an issue. Ask for a targeted edit, such as updating one section, correcting an internal link, changing the excerpt, or revising the SEO description. State what should change and what must stay the same. For factual corrections, provide the source or the correct information instead of asking the assistant to guess.

For example: “In the draft post, replace the outdated setup step with these current steps. Keep the rest of the article, featured image, category, and SEO title unchanged. Save the result as a draft and show me the updated link.”

Start with one useful article

Pick a real question your customers ask, give the assistant enough context to answer it accurately, and review the draft before it goes live. If you manage several connected sites, name the exact site where the post belongs. For more about connection setup and permissions, read the AI Web Command FAQ.
